About Sophie
Hello!A Background in Illustration
I’m Sophie, a tattoo artist specialising in painterly, narrative compositions inspired by folklore, fantasy and botanical forms.
Before tattooing, I worked as an illustrator and studied Graphic Communication and Illustration at Loughborough University. My work has been exhibited in galleries across the UK, and that foundation in drawing continues to shape the way I approach each tattoo, with a focus on composition, storytelling and detail.
Influences & Inspiration
Much of my work is influenced by a love of fantasy and history, from romantic, story-led imagery to the quiet, slightly surreal atmosphere of 80s fantasy films and the natural, textured world of cottagecore and folklore. These influences find their way into my pieces in subtle ways, creating designs that feel both timeless and personal.
A Thoughtful Process
I’m particularly drawn to larger-scale work, where there is space to develop flow, softness and depth over multiple sessions. Each tattoo is approached as a collaborative process, allowing your ideas to evolve into something that feels considered and right for your body.
Clients often tell me the experience feels calm and thoughtful. I care deeply about creating an environment where you feel comfortable, listened to, and confident in the work we are creating together.
Outside the Studio
Outside of tattooing, I am usually reading, drawing, or spending time with my young daughter. Becoming a mum has deepened my appreciation for slower, more intentional work, something that continues to shape both my process and my perspective as an artist.
My Approach
My aim is always to create something that not only looks beautiful on the day, but continues to settle and age softly into the skin over time.
